Gucci's Test Results

As you all know that Gucci my yorkie had liver shunt operation last August. I had to take her for retests on Good Friday. Her vet called me yesterday with the results. Her bile acids one of them is still a little elevated, but soo much better than before she had the surgery. He said this is probably because she does has Microvasular Dysplasia which is micro shunts within the liver, and there is nothing you can do for this. Her blood work is normal , he said if he didn't know that Gucci had liver problems her blood work is great. I am still feeding her the l/d diet he said if she likes it , no harm to keep her on it. If I switch I have to always keep an eye on her for neuroligoical problems, stomach etc. I am soo thankful that the surgery helped Gucci and I hope she is with us for many years. Please keep her in your prayers that she always continues doing well.

I'm glad to hear that Gucci's test results are good. We get so very attached to them that it's just like worrying over a child!!

Boy these little ones make us worry don't they? They mean the world to us. I'll keep Gucci in my prayers. I know she has a special mommy to look after her.

Oh wow Gina. I'm sorry your little Gucci has had so many medical problems. You must be constantly worried about her! I'm glad the test results were positive and I'm saying a little prayer for you and Gucci.

Gina, what a relief! I will most definatly keep little Gucci in my prayers. She is a lucky girl, to have you as her Mom. Are you keeping her on the l/d diet?

Thank you all for your kind words, your the best :) Mandy I am keeping Gucci on the l/d diet for now. I have a large bag of dry food , when I am almost through with it I will consider changing. I really don't know what to do, the vet said if she is eating it leave her alone, if I do change then I have to keep an eye on her. So why rock the boat. These past few days she is finicky so I give her some of the l/d wet, she likes that . I get nervous with all you hear of the wet foods these days, but this one is not on the list.

Thanks again!

Gina, I am so glad the test results were good. The food thing has all of us worried.
We were lucky Angie had a large bag of food bought before all this started so we have been using that for all three dogs in the family.

Gina, yes i think its best for your own peace of mind to keep your little girl on the l/d diet, i asked, because i would do the same, its too nerve wrecking to start changing around, while you think you are doing her a favor, it could take the other route, maybe you can give her snacky things from time to time.

Best wishes. ;)
