Any Other Texans W/weather?

Ok so are there any other Texans on here with bad weather???

Marilyn 04-24-2007 08:00 PM

We're on the coast, between Houston and Corpus. It's not bad here yet, just very windy. Tomorrow it's supposed to get to us.

I saw on the news, some places are hit bad  Hope you girls are safe and sound!!

Saw on the news the tornados and bad weather there. You all keep safe. It's raining here today in Indiana and just plain yucky!! Suppose to be this way tomorrow too, but the weekend is suppose to be so nice. Looking so forward to the weekend.

We got about 6-7 inches with lots of wind but no damage. We are right outside Denton so was in a lot of rain. DIL had water up to her hips in her back yard. She had to rescue her basset hound from the roof of a shed:) The good thing..we got about 2 feet of water in our pond. Hubby is so excited.

I saw where Denton had a lot of rain and bad weather. I'm glad that you're ok.

Thanks. Didn't Kansas have lots of storms last week? Where in Kansas are you from. I lived in Kansas for a long time.

Come visit me in Wisconsin ladies! It might be a bit cool for you southerners, but as far as I'm concerned, today was a perfect day! It was 62, amd sunny with a light breeze. I was out for a while and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I hope you all keep safe! Mother nature can throw quite some tantrums!

We're safe where we are, just had lots of rain this morning, but around 11 a.m. it cleared off and was sunny, hot an humid this afternoon. Beautiful day, but it was the first time this year that I felt the heat.

Eagle Pass got hit hard, 10 dead, 7 on US side, 3 on Mexican side: http://www.cnn.com/2007/WEATHER/04/2...ths/index.html
Check out the pictures in the gallery. Lots of destruction. The neighborhoods affected are very poor, so hardly anyone had insurance. The Red Cross is calling for donations and the governor is trying to get federal assistance, but the feds don't care too much about poor border towns.

Eagle Pass is 250 miles from us.

I live in Southeast Kansas about 100 miles east of Wichita. We've had a lot of rain but not any really bad storms. We DO keep an eye on the weather since we're from Kansas and live in the country. In town they have a tornado siren but we're far enough from town that we can't hear it. We always are keeping an eye to the sky.

A few years ago we had a small tornado about 1/2 mile from the house. We were pretty excited but it never touched down.

Here's a picture that we took:

I had read about this on the internet. I didn't realize that you were so close to it. I'm glad that you're alright. I was surprised because I didn't realize that you had tornados that far south and into Mexico except with hurricanes.

I'm in Central Texas and the weather was insane the night before, but as soon as morning came it all cleared out, we're all safe here. and today ended up being an absolutely gorgeous day. An Army friend of mine was almost called out to Houston to help with the clean up, but they called him just before he left and let him know they didn't need him.

Oh yeah, we always get tornadoes, just nothing big enough to get us on the national news

Janet 04-26-2007 05:06 AM

We have tornadoes all the time in Indiana. Pretty scary sometimes. My husband gets really nervous, but storms don't bother me. I guess my son needs the balance, because I want him to be cautious, but not scared.

I don't know how you all deal with the summer humidity. That's is the only thing I don't like about the warmer weather coming. We get such high humidity that you feel it's hard to breath. At least we have air conditioning. I'd rather have the warm than the freezing cold.
