Gas Prices

Yesterday Lighting struck a oil refinery here in OK. They are saying that this will cause gas prices to go up.

Oh, Jeeze, it's already almost 3 bucks a gallon. I never seriously considered a hybrid before, but I think I'm going to look into them next time I buy a car. <sigh>

Hey Jess, Me too! Did you go to a show this weekend?

Jessica R 04-28-2007 07:21 PM

Sadly, no. :( Had to cancel, even had a little cabin reserved. I guess you missed the thread. Donald, thinking it was a little garter snake, picked up a baby rattler and got a bite on his left thumb (knuckle).

Luckily, he had a buddy with him, and was within a couple miles of the hospital. He's alright, swelling is almost completely gone, and besides a lot of pain he seems to have full function in his left thumb and hand. He's hoping to get back to work on Monday. Very lucky, but poor guy's been in a lot of pain. Thank goodness for lortab. ;)

Oh my goodness! That is terrible. I am glad he is going to be OK.

Thanks. Me too. It was such an unreal situation. I don't think I've ever even seen a rattlesnake in real life. Also, I didn't know that the babies don't have rattles, just a small hard piece on the back of the tail called a button. Been educational, if nothing else. I know Donald will hesitate before he picks up something that crawls or slithers into his shop again. :)

I saw on the news tonight that the refinery is still on fire. I hope no one was hurt.

I am so tired of rising gas prices. When is it ever going to stop?

I've really never talked about "hybrids" before, can someone enlighten me please? I've seen them on TV, I think, but since I not in the market for a new vehicle, never paid much attention..so now I'm ready to learn...

They are vechicles that use other methods to power them as well as gas. So you can have gas and electric.

I know that we now have a couple of ethinol (sp) stations here in OK, too. I am not sure why this is not more embraced. It supports the farmers.
