What would you call about?
 

I've been steered to an unusual job... and would love opinions from you all about it.

The job consists of answering calls from total strangers from all over the world who just need to talk to someone anonymously. I wouldn't have to give qualified advice, but could if I felt I was qualified to do so.
I could be a "phone friend" to someone who's lonely and just needs to talk, or could be a surrogate Mom or Grandma to someone who'd like to vent and get some parenting or family advice, etc.

If you could have a number to call someone anonymously to discuss anything under the sun what would it be?

I don't know....why would I call a hotline when I have 4WT! (lol, j/k)

Seriously though, that sounds like a neat job - I know there are a lot of people out there that really can benefit from a listening ear, and someone that cares, and I know you do!

Hmm...I don't think I could just call someone up to talk about something personal in my life. I think I'd feel too awkward and I'd feel like I would just be an obligation of the person I talked to rather than it being a real "friendship". It sounds interesting though. I hope you get the job!!

That sounds like a neat job Tink. I can imagine there are alot of people all over needing a friend to talk to at some point in their lives, and theres no one around, people that have moved to a new country, or are just so lonely.

I don't know if I would call one or not. If I needed help that badly, I would want someone qualified to help me with my specific problem. What if it was someone who wanted to call all the time? I would want to help them, but I couldn't just stay on the phone with them any and every time they called. I'd also be afraid to say I can't talk right now and have them do something drastic. I think it would be more than I could handle.
