Ads

Admin closed the other topic, but I just wanted to say that I at least wasn't complaining about the ads being there I understand how they work("automatically generated by Google based on content of the page"), I was just saying that I was kinda shocked that sites like that even exist.

Maybe everyone doesn't understand how the ads work, so we can't fault 4wt for them being there, but it is a bad reflection on society that ads like that even exist. Right now I'm getting one about "Dating Married Women."

I'm just glad that this site doesn't have pop-up ads, I'll take the oddball ads every now and then if it means I don't have to deal with pop-ups.

I must be in la la land, I have the faintest idea what ya'll are talking about. What ads and what thread is closed?

Lissa 05-11-2007 10:17 AM

Here's the thread: Take a LOOK!

Janet 05-11-2007 10:22 AM

Oh my...

Hey, I think this is our very first closed thread!!!

Lissa 05-11-2007 10:24 AM

No offense to admin, but I'd put a vote in to say they're not having a good day.

AngieDoogles 05-11-2007 10:32 AM

I don't get interesting stuff either. It's usually about ringtones or car insurance. lol.

I am surprised it got closed. I understand the site has to make money. I was actrually surprised by the reaction it got from the admin.

The ads are automatically generated by Google based on content of the page. This community would not be possible without ads. If you do not like an ad you see, you do not have to click on it. Thank you.
Just for the record I didn't mean to click on the ad. I was just doing to many things at once and didn't realize I clicked on it.

I saw the topic on the ads but thought they were just an observation not that anyone was complaining about them. Maybe Admin did have a bad day or something. Just smile, Admin!!!:) :)

I'm too busy just trying to keep up around here and read the threads to even notice what's at the top of the screen. Ads pay the bills and keep the site running. We don't have to notice them if we choose not to.

Janet 05-12-2007 03:38 AM

I don't usually notice the ads either. It's nice to have people that keep a closer eye on things.

Mandy 05-12-2007 10:26 AM

LOL... i see the ads on top, but never click on any.

That's "ditto" for me too Marilyn!!

I receive ads w/in my own personal email that "I don't ask for etc.";, Those ads have no reflection on who I am as a person same as they don't have a reflecton on 4WT or aids in the description of Admin's site. Actually we need to be thankful that Admin has this to help cover the costs of running such a site for all us to share and enjoy.

I used to get the strangest ads through my email, mostly about if I wanted to make my ***** longer. I was always tempted to respond with "I don't have a *****, so pLease leave me alone." I'm now getting about 3-4 emails/day which I know not to open, plus the once in a while scam email about the dead relative, I'm in Africa money scheme. The ads on top by google pale in comparison. I also think we should ignore them and be grateful that they help pay for this site.
