Starting my diet again
I need to lose about 5 pounds, maybe 7, so I'm doing my usual Weight Watcher's with Subway heroes for dinner. I have been doing WW, but eating whatever I want
for dinner, in small portions. Now that it's bathing suit weather and dresses are in fashion this year, I decided to go back to the Subway hero dinner. Luckily, I'm not that fussy about having choices. As long as it tastes good, I can eat the same thing for weeks. I have a pretty good diet. Breakfast is oatmeal, soy milk, WW bread/low fast peanut butter, 2 Stella Doro pieces of anisette toast. Lunch is a fat free muffin, and dinner will be 1/2 Subway hero. Snacks are chocolate cake after dinner. I have to have my chocolate! I need more fruits and veggies, so maybe I'll add them. |
WOW that sounds like a great diet Judy, good luck girl, i here cheering for you! :cheer:

Good luck Judy! Your menu sounds pretty good, how long to you eat this way for? Is it going to be this menu for the time duration? I love stella doro anisette cookies, I guess they are allowed on WW. I will go out and buy them.I have to try to lose a few pds. I did but I have been eating again..oh well! lol |

Believe it or not, I've been eating the same breakfast for about 5 years and the muffins for lunch for about 3 years. Dinner was the fun meal, but it got out of hand. I also think retiring put on weight. Teaching requires moving around the classroom, you never sit down, and going from one room to another. I didn't realize that it was so much exercise. The anisette toast is about 1 point each I think. Good luck. I love WW - it works for me. |
Judy,
Good luck to you, sounds like you have a great plan. I have never been able to stick to a diet. Ever. I'm impressed that you have eaten the same breakfast and lunch for so long! I just wanted to comment that I see you are a retired teacher? What grade? I just got my first job as a teacher starting this fall (I returned to school in 2006 and graduated May 19) and I'm really excited about it. BTW, my name is Judy too, lol. Of course, I'm getting a late start, but it's something I've always wanted to do. |
I need to start again too Judy. I went shopping today with LynneB and I bought a couple of shirts. I am just too darn fat that's all there is to it!! I hate the way I look.
|
Good luck, Judy. It sounds like you know what you're doing to meet your goals.

I got a late start teaching too. I was in my 30's. I just retired in November and am loving it, but I really loved teaching. I finished up the last 13-14 years teaching high school science. I started with kindergarten and lasted 1 month! Then I worked my way through drop-out prevention, middle school and then high school. What are you going to teach? Congratulations on your graduation, by the way. If you need any advice or someone to bounce ideas off of, please pm me. The one piece of advice I will share with you now is to find something to love in each child, and to focus on that. It makes the day so pleasant! |
Good luck on your diet Judy. Sounds like you have a good plan.

I'm getting a little tired of the Subway Club hero, but I can get used to it. (I hope!)
I see my stomach shrinking - YAY |
Congrats Judy! :)

Good luck with your diet, Judy!!!! We know you can do it!!
We're doing WW, but went to Austin over the weekend and over did it a bit & I gained a little bit this week, so now I'm back to being strict and counting points. I'm really full right now after eating supper, and I have two points left, so will enjoy a WW ice cream a little later this evening. |
2 points after dinner is great! Isn't it like having money? I always felt like if I'm going to use my points, it's got to be worth it. Ice cream is certainly worth it!
Good luck! I made your fat free bran muffins with peaches and cranberries - really good! I use yogurt instead of soy milk, country crock instead of oil, and oat flakes instead of oatmeal. Thanks for the recipe. |

So glad you liked the recipe. I'll have to try your variation. I never use Country Crock, but Smart Balance will probably work just as well. Let us all know how you are doing!! |
I'm so glad to hear it's working out for you! I think once you make a real commitment (which is very hard to do), it is easy. By the way, when I was going to WW support meetings, they told us not to go under our points too much because it slows down your metabolism too much and you actually do not lose any weight.
Maybe you can check with them about it. Yesterday, I "forgot" to buy my Subway hero for dinner and had no choice but to order in a cheeseburger deluxe (:D ). What do you think, about 34,000 points? I bought my Subway today though and made some more muffins. |
