Power out

Well, our power went out a little before 5 this morning. The temperature in Paris which is about 10 miles from us was 8 degrees. We have our walkietalkies tuned to the weather all the time. That's how we knew the temp. Anyway, the power just came back on Thank God! I did not want to deal with frozen pipes. I had dragged out blankets and beach towels and wrapped us all (Yorkies too) in them. I hope it's warmer where ya'll are. I don't like it this cold. My hubby is sound asleep in his chair. Wish I could sleep like that.
Tried to post pics but they're too big. Will figure out how to make them smaller. I did it for the avatar on lYorkietalk but that was a year and a half ago.
Hope your day is great!

Wow! You are cold there!!! I'm glad that your electricity came back on because it's a big worry when it goes off. Years ago when the electricity would go off I would turn the oven on and open the door but now even though I still have a gas oven it needs electricity to operate. I'm glad that you're not having to deal with frozen pipes. I hate that!!!! Stay warm!!!

I woke up to an outside temp of 3 degrees this morning. When temperatures get that low, just open the door under your sinks and leave a trickle of water running. Of course if your electricity is off don't run the water, it will burn the well pump up. It's suppose to get in the 40's and 50's here soon...I wish it would hurry.

It has been sooo cold. Personally I don't like it one bit. Each morning early I'm out hammering the horse water trough to break up the ice so he can drink. I keep telling him "Bay, don't put your lips to this ice or your lips will stick".

Each stroke of that hammer I'm cursing - sure the neighbors laugh when they drive by. There's no electricity where the water & trough is at so I can't use a warmer.

Speaking of Bay....This ummm man (will be nice and wont call him names right now) who has the horses who was going to put in Bay's stall yadda yadda....Well he changed his mind. So hubby and I spent money and time working on the other pasture for nothing. So Bay isn't coming home right now after all. &**#$@ *^&!!_* **%$#@ !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I give up!!! I give up on trying to stay warm and I give up on stupid people!!

Anyway, done venting now. :o

That really sucks Sheryl! Not only the hammering of ice, but the wacho man changing his mind. You should tell him he told you one thing and then you spent money, see if he'll reimburse you. Some people next time he comes over...make him some ice tea with water from the trough...LOL I know, I know, I'm being a stinker again.

Oh now that is priceless!!!!!!!!!! You don't know how bad I want to do that.

Actually I don't even speak to this person. He's the one who recently divorced my gf. Well, he won 3 of the 8 horses in the divorce. and now says "changed my mind, getting rid of them".

It's all just an awkward situation that goes beyond bizarre.
I don't care really about the money, it's the fact that Bay wont be here. This guy who's getting rid of the horses works for the man who owns all the land out here. He's the one telling me when Bay stays or Bay goes. Nuts!

We're suppose to be in the 60's in the next couple of days. I'm looking forward to it. I had to use a shovel to break up the ice in my birds' water yesterday and the day before. The ponds are frozen over. I let the birds out this morning and they are very happy.

Sheryl,

I'm sorry about Bay. You were looking forward to getting him on your land!

That guy will get his!

Janet 01-06-2008 04:50 PM
