Organic Food?

Hmm.. I can't create a poll in here, but...

Do you try to eat/shop for organic food as often as possible?
Do you sometimes eat/shop for organic food?
Do you buy whatever looks good?

I've got to be a little more picky now, but for the most part, don't even look at organic.

I hepled my son on a report on our food supply in our country. After all that reading I was so sick thinking what was going on w/ our food. There's a list called "The Dirty Dozen" that you should ALWAYS buy organic because of the pesticides & contaminants they are: Apples, Bell Peppers, Celery, Cherries, Grapes (imported), Necterines, Peaches, Pears, Potatoes, Red Raspberries, Spinach & Strawberries. If you really want to see what your eating start researching our meat supply, it's disgusting.

Picky Picky Picky

I am so very picky when it comes to buying produce. I don't really head to the organic isles as that is not a priority. But I will search, touch, squeeze, and smell all the produce before it goes into my cart. There are times when I'm in the produce section 30 min's or more. (I need a life) :D

Oh, I do the EXACT same thing. And if there isn't the "perfect" piece in there, I won't buy it.

i have been buying organic whipping cream-WAY better and also have been getting organic half-half for my coffee and hot teas. I started buying cottage cheese for my yorkie whiskey (thanks YT!!!) and it tasted good to me then i started getting the organic kind-it's delicious. I can't wait till i can get organic skim milk in a gallon size -where i live you can only buy it in the pint size and it's whole milk. so far that's the only organic things i've been buying...will try to buy more when it becomes available.:D

If I started a garden and grew my own produce, would that be considered "organic"??? I was wondering about this today.

I use to love having my garden. We haven't had one for about 3 years now. I was always so meticulous about weeds and all, but then we got a little busy when our son got older. I may have to think it over for next year.:)

I love having fresh fruits and veggies in my garden. We had a lot of stuff that didn't survive because everything got cold after we planted. But, we have tomatoes and peppers growing right now! home grown produce is the best!

I buy about 90% of my daughter's food at the organic whole food store. I try to feed her the healthiest foods possible & I feel organic is much healthier. As for myself....I rarely eat organic because it is expensive so I only buy stuff for her. :p
