I got a GPS System!

I finally decided on the Garmin Nuvi 350 after doing all of my research. I went to eBay and won one that's new, still in the box, but at a substantially lower price than the stores want. It's not an entry level GPS - I'm hoping to have it for a few years.

It was still expensive, and I had no business buying it right after Christmas, but I'm not in debt - those gifts are paid for.

I think it's a wonderful thing to have for someone like me who drives long distances alone. I don't have anyone to read me the directions and sometimes I have to pull onto the shoulder of a highway to read the directions.

Way to go Judy!
That's the same exact model dh got. I hope it works great for both of you. lol

Good for you, Judy!! Your reasoning for wanting one make very good sense. It's not safe for a woman alone to be stopping to read a map on the side of the road. Hope it works very well for you, too.

Yay Judy!!! I still haven't bought one yet, but hope to soon. Funny thing is...we don't really need it right now....I just want one...LOL. It would also be nice for my son, since he never paid attention while sitting in the back seat as to where we were going and how to get there. Too busy playing handheld games or listening to his CD's. Maybe this summer I can get one. Let me know how you like yours and if it's easy to use.

I'm glad that you found a GPS at a good price! Hopefully you'll get to do a lot of traveling and get to use it alot!!!!

I'm excited - I love toys.

By the time summer comes Janet, there will be newer ones - but I will certainly test run this one for you!

Janet 01-22-2008 11:32 AM

I won't be able to afford newer ones....old ones that are "new in box" are just as good..lol.

That's what I like about eBay! Sometimes you get taken. I don't think this is one of those time. He probably got it for Christmas and either has one or doesn't want one.

I'll keep you posted on this one.

I was up in Wisconsin for 2 weeks last month, waiting for the birth of my new grandaughter, and helping my daughter with the other two girls. Anyway, I was driving the girls around to gymnastics , piano, etc. I have to tell you that GPS was a life saver. Of course my family would tell you that I can get lost driving around the block. If I went out more, I would definately get one.

Congrats Judy! How are you liking it so far?

Janet 01-27-2008 10:40 AM

Have you gotten lost yet Judy? LOLOL Love ya girlfriend!!

judy 01-27-2008 12:21 PM

It looks beautiful. I haven't played yet. Maybe tomorrow.

I love toys!

Greg is SO technically challenged... he hasn't even used his GPS yet. Joel however is picking up my new poodle boy for me today so grabbed it to try out. He's got to drive about 100 miles through 3 different states and find a farm in a very rural area, so it will be interesting to see what he thinks of it once he gets back.

Janet 01-27-2008 02:30 PM

ooooh, let us know how he does. I know someone that bought one of my puppies used their GPS and when I asked if they had any trouble finding our home they said "no", the GPS brought them right to my driveway. How cool. I do want one ya know!!!

Judy I mentioned to you that Costco online is selling the same model you have I believe for 299.00 starting the begining of February. Hurry up and use it so I can buy it.. :D
