Surgery? as a last resort. I had those when I was really sick and lost all that weight. They were bad. Couldn't hardly stand up and sitting was just as bad.
But preparation H did help mine.

Witch Hazle pads to clean the areas and then some of that Prep H stuff.

Kimberley 09-19-2006 06:26 PM

Oh, and a little baby powder to keep area dry.

rivermom 09-19-2006 06:30 PM

Ouch. I have yet to experience this sorta situation yet.

Sorry I don't have a suggestion, but this post reminded me of a funny story. When my cousin and I were little, she learned the word hemmoroid and we used to run around yelling "I'M HAVING A HEMMOROID ATTACK! AHHH!" ... until her mom told us what it was

Sherry Lynn 09-19-2006 10:14 PM

Hahaha!!! That's funny, Lindsay!

I have a girlfriend that got them when she was very pregnant with her first daughter, and her husband tells a funny story on her....

She was in the shower and felt them (I guess they're pretty big! ) and started screaming for him to come in and help her because she thought she was having the baby! He died laughing when he realized what it was! :D

The 'baby' is now married and has started a family of her own, but her Dad still teases her Mom about that!

Mandy 09-19-2006 10:59 PM

That sounds painful  Not had them yet and hope i never do.

Marilyn 09-20-2006 03:48 AM

Had them after having babies, and used the over the counter stuff. They were very painful. They got well, though, and shrank. Haven't had a flair up in years & years. I was almost afraid to post about it. Afraid if I mention them, they will COME BACK  .

I've never had them, but my dad and my father-in-law have had them. Both had to get them surgically removed.

This may sound silly... but if they are removed does the person have problems going to the bathroom??
