Double Posting
 

Okay, what's with this double posting that is happening to me???? I'm not hitting submit more than once!!! In fact the last time it happened, I did not even hit submit. I was pondering what to type next, hit the space bar, there were a couple of hard clicks, I looked up and the post was submitted twice.

This has happened to me on two different computers. It just looks so lame when there are two identical posts & I don't see it happening to anyone else. Any ideas on what's happening.

Again, this happening on different computers, so I don't think it's in the machine. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

You triple posted last week! Sometimes when I think I lost the reply before I submit, I find that it has been submitted without my hitting the key. I get a message though that doesn't allow me to repost.

You could pm Admin or just not worry about it. We know it's not you now.

Hmmmm...........I wouldn't know what was causing it especially since you've been on two different computers when it happened. I noticed that you've had unfinished sentences in a few of your double posts. I would guess that this is a question for admin.

Now that I know you all were really noticing, I really feel self conscious. I hate to PM Admin, but this may be worth trying. It seems to happen when I hit the space bar sometime. Now I'm afraid to hit the space bar. :(

I PM'd admin and he had the solution:

"We have never heard of this issue before. Sorry you are having this problem. It could be that you accidentally hit the tab key, then hit the space bar, because the tab key will bring you to the Submit Message button and then the space bar would equal "clicking" on the Submit Message button.

That's the only explanation we could think of."

I tend to use lots of exclamation points with I'm posting. I am probably accidentally hitting the tab key when typing instead of the exclamation point key then hitting the space bar. This makes perfect sense. I did not know that hitting tab and then space = hitting submit.

Now I know what to watch for. Thought I'd share the info in case it happens to you.

Don't feel self consious about it. I've had double posts too. It's no big deal!
