Great news!
My oldest dd and her family bought a dumpy little house from her dh's sister for about half it's value 6 yrs ago. It's small, in rough shape and now that they've had contractors in to give estimates on remodeling and adding on to it, they've learned it's not worth fixing. :(
So they've been searching for a different house and trying to decide what to do with the one they currently have... pretty worried that they were going to run into problems selling it or finding something else affordable that they like.
Today Berry called me and said they'd had their offer accepted on a house I stumbled on online in their city. It's a bank repo at about half it's value, and they're scheduled to close on it next month!
I'm SO relieved for them! The house is about twice the size and much nicer than what they currently have, plus it has a large back yard, huge garage and family room, and an attractive 3' tall retaining wall along the sidewalk that will keep people off the yard as they walk by. Best of all, one of their next door neighbors has made a good offer on their current house, so they will have that sold easily too!
Just had to share the good news. :D
