This guy is INSANE

I don't know if you've heard about this guy, but it's big news around these parts! This 64 year old French man is planning to skydive from basically the edge of the atmosphere, and it's happening right near my hometown. He was supposed to go up this morning (a 2 hour ascent in a hot air balloon) but it was postponed. He wants to see if a human could actually survive a jump from that high.

I heard something about this earlier today. I just don't get the purpose of risking your life like that. Makes no sense to me.

I guess it's for science, but still I sure wouldn't be the one volunteering! I especially like how a bunch of countries turned him down and Canada was like "Sure, come on in you crazy man" lol

You'll have to watch and let us know what happens. It doesn't sound too bright. I mean he's going to be freefalling at about 930 mph!!! His chute will open up for him in case he passes out, that is if he doesn't burn up first. Not smart if you ask me!!!

Lindsey 05-26-2008 07:27 PM

They were talking about it on the radio this morning. From that height, he'll be falling so fast but he won't even be able to feel it. He'll feel like he's just floating there because the air is so thin there won't be the feeling of air rushing past him!

I agree with Marilyn on this one!

LOL okay so his attempt yesterday was postponed due to wind. He was supposed to take off at 4 am this morning. They were starting to inflate the balloon, and it came unattached from the capsule he was in, and the balloon floated away. How boring!

Maybe God's trying to tell him something!!!

Maybe it's a sign...

What can science learn from this? Send instruments up to mimic a human, but don't be so reckless with the gift of life.

judy 05-27-2008 03:12 PM

He's my new favorite psycho!

What could his though processes possibly be like? I really hope he heeds God's warning.
