First of all I'd like to Thank Janet for posting the Prayer thread for me and thank all of my 4 WT Family for their prayers. You can't imagine how happy this kind gesture has made me feel today. :ghug:


I had another Ultra Sound yesterday and am scheduled for a CT Scan today at 4:00 CST.

I have what is called a Peripheral Aneurysm in my femoral artery.

Aneurysms that occur in arteries other than the aorta (and not in the brain) are called peripheral aneurysms. Common locations for peripheral aneurysms include the artery that runs down the back of the thigh behind the knee (popliteal artery), the main artery in the groin (femoral artery), and the main artery in the neck (carotid artery).
Peripheral aneurysms are not as likely to rupture as aortic aneurysms, but blood clots can form in peripheral aneurysms. If a blood clot breaks away from the aneurysm, it can block blood flow through the artery. If a peripheral aneurysm is large, it can press on a nearby nerve or vein and cause pain, numbness, or swelling.

It is in my groin area and I'm not getting sufficient blood flowing into my right leg. I'll know all the particulars of the surgery after the Doctor reviews all the tests results.

I guess that piggy artery I got 13 years ago is getting worn out. :fainted:

So what's the deal with the piggy artery????? Girl, you got some explaining to do.

We will be thinking of you Kat and hope the surgery is very successful and not too hard on you. We love you.

I'm sorry that you're going through all of this, Kat. I'm with Janet on wondering what you meant by the "piggy" artery. You're in my prayers.

The piggy artery is sometimes they do bypass (as in bypass a blockage) and use a pig artery. They are almost identical to human arteries.

You also have a little bacon inside you. Yummy!

I wish Kat would come back and update us on what is going on. I'll have to check out the other site to see if she's there.
