The Dark Knight

Has anyone seen this movie? I'm going tonight and I'm SOOOO excited! I've been looking forward to it for a year. I'm kind of a comic book movie geek :)
Oh yeah and I'm wearing my Batman shirt just to embarass Kyle :D

Haven't seen it yet. Not a fan of the Joker. He's kinda scary to me. May go after the crowds die down. I still want to see Wall-E. Tried to get Hubby to go this weekend, but he had too much work to do.

Lindsey 07-21-2008 10:55 PM

I really want to see Wall-E too!
I just got back from The Dark Knight. It was amazing! But I'm not going to lie, I'm probably going to have nightmares about the Joker for a while. Oh yeah and Kyle was really embarassed about my shirt. It was funny :D

My hubby and I went saturday. I thought it was good, my hubby loved it. It was too all over the place for & you never knew what was going to happen next. I know that is the whole point of the joker, but it makes me a bit uncomfortable. It also made me sad to see Heath Ledger....he was so good & now he's gone. Also I thought Christian Bale (Batman) looked too skinny. Maybe it was to make him look tormented or something, but it was just a little weird for me.

It was very eery for me to see Heath Ledger. But after seeing the movie I could completely understand how getting into a character like that could mess a person up for awhile. He was so good. I actually did have nightmares about the joker last night. Even after the movie, going into my house from my car I felt paranoid and I ran and unlocked the door as quickly as I could. I had to turn every light on on my way to my room!
The only thing I'm not sure I liked was the end of the movie. And if I'd known it was that long, I would have went to an early show. I didn't go to sleep until 1:30 and got up at 6:30 for work!

I *really* want to see it, but we're waiting for it to come out on DVD.

I'm just very money conscious and don't want to spend 20 bucks at the theater when you can rent it for less than $5. lol

I loved Christian Bale in American Psycho! He was fantastic. He looks awful and very weird now.

I don't know if I'll see it - it's too sad for me because Heath Ledger is gone now.
It does look great though. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.

I can't wait to see it! My daughter wants to watch it but I have heard that it isn't for kids at all. So we will see.

Gina 07-26-2008 07:48 AM

I hear its excellent, but that Christian Bale has been a bad boy with his mother and sister I read in the newspaper the other day..

I agree with Judy I feel bad also that Heath Ledger is gone.

I may wait for this one to come out on video, too. We bought that big screen tv for something.

I still want to see Wall-E on the big screen though. If hubby won't go tonight, I may just leave him at home. He is working all day today though, and has a meeting at 3:30 with clients, so guess I should be more paitient with him.

I don't know how old your daughter is, but I would think a child needs to be at the very least 13 if not older to see it. The violence & subtext was very dark. They didn't show things graphifically, but they applied them well enough. I'm 28 & there were parts where I closed my eyes. I had a nightmare about the joker 2 days after I saw it. It was just very very dark & demented. Maybe you should see it without her first & then make a decision....you know your daughter better than anyone.
