Obama Removes Flag !

I just got an email from a friend who told me that Obama replaced the American Flag on his plane with a big O. It has a few stripes in it with a tad bit of blue and white. I went and looked it up on the internet and it is true! He seems to have issues with the American Flag for some reason. This sure is odd coming from someone who wants to be a President!

I don't think we're suppose to post political postings Michelle, so don't be surprised if this is closed or deleted.

Here's an article that talks about it. It is not negative or positive in Obama's favor.

I asked the admin a while back and their reply was..
"When threads are civil, no matter what topic, it is fine"... sooo lol

I think that both McCain and Obama should display the flag proudly on their planes. I think that if Obama was going to change the flag it should have been with something that does even resemble the flag... I am just not a fan of messing around with the way the American Flag looks.I wanna see stars and stripes!

Okay, I'm sorry, I thought they posted something about political threads...so ....nevermind...LOL

Emmsmom 08-05-2008 11:54 AM

LOL Not a prob. I hope I didn't sound nasty... LOL Sorry if I did.

The flag was removed in the process of remodeling the plane from a company logo that included flags to personalizing it for his own use. Unfortunately I think it was poorly thought out... since the lapel pin issue, you'd think he'd be a bit more careful about alienating people in this way. Just plain poor planning I think.

Actually Janet, you are right. Admin did say that.

I wonder if there's a difference between discussing a news story about a politician and debating a political issue. Maybe we need some clarification.

Emmsmom 08-05-2008 12:55 PM

THis is the reply that I received from the Admin regarding that thread.

"When threads are civil, no matter what topic, it is fine, but the Obama thread turned into a member or their family member calling Obama an Anti-Christ or whatnot. We just feel that when it gets to that level, nothing positive will come out of leaving the thread open. People feel strongly about their political and religious views, and arguing and debating on this forum will most likely NOT change their minds about any particular issue.

We received complaints about that thread and we agreed with the reported post that it was getting out of hand.

Thank you.

-Admin"

I don't see anything wrong with discussing politcal topics. As long as we do it in a civil manor I don't see a problem. I wasn't debating or saying anything negative. In my post I said that BOTH McCain AND Obama needed to display the flags proudly!

Emmsmom 08-06-2008 09:10 AM

I can see how debating can cause a problem. You will never have 2 people agreeing. This topic was a news article. Maybe they could add a forum for talking about news articles. That would really be interesting.

So this is not a negative comment?????????

I have a problem with this thread. That's not all I have to say, but that is all that I will say.

Emmsmom 08-06-2008 11:07 AM

Nope not at all. I would have said the same thing about anyone messing with the American flag. I also said that I think McCain AND Obama should dispay the flag on their planes proudly!

Marilyn 08-07-2008 03:18 AM

For friendship sake, why don't we all just consider this thread closed. If we don't I guarantee this will get ugly.
