For My Mother
I would like to request prayer for my mother, I take her back to her kidney Dr. on Friday. Please keep her in your prayers that her kidney failure has not gotten worse. She's still not sure she wants to do the dialysis (at 85 y/o I probably wouldn't) but it is her decision. Would really appreciate you keeping her in your thoughts on Friday.

I hope everything is okay Janet. I have kidney problems as well. My grandma took me to see a doctor who is very into natural remedies, and he told me that alfalfa sprouts are great for kidney health. I usually put them on salads or sandwiches. After two years, my kidney function which wasn't well due to kidney damage had improved by 200%! Just thought I'd pass along the tip!

Prayers sent your way Janet...

Keeping your mom in my thoughts and prayers Janet. HUGS!

Thanks ladies.
Lindsey, I'll be sure and tell my mother. Hey...ya never know, right? |
Hi Janet - tell your Mom that she might need to not drive the camper a bit and take care of herself.
many thoughts are being sent her way. **hugs** |
I would love for her not to drive or pull her camper....I tried mentioning it to her once, but oh wow:eek:....I'll never do that again. I'll leave that to my brothers. :p She went bullistic on me, she's one tough lady and won't give up anything without a fight.

I'll be praying for your Mom too, Janet.
|
I hope and PRAY your Mom gets a good report.
|
Janet, I'm adding my prayers to the others. I'm sure your mom being one tough lady will be a help as she goes through everything. Hugs to both of you!

My prayers are with your mom Janet.
I hope she gets a good report at the drs. |
I know I asked a little early, but I just thought if you happened to think of it, a couple extra prayers wouldn't hurt...LOL. Thank ladies.

Hope everything went well at the doctor Janet.

Thanks ladies. The news is a little of both...good and bad. Her hemoglobin is good. She hasn't had to have blood added since before she came home from Florida and that was in April. But....her kidney function is now down to 12%...not good. We go Sept. 4th to talk with the surgeon that will be putting in the fistula in her arm for dialysis. Right now all the numbers say she should be on dialysis, but so far no outward signs. Once we see the surgeon on the 4th he'll make an appt. for her within the month. If she should happen to need dialysis before fistula is ready, (it can't be used right after being implanted) then she'll be given dialysis through the neck. The is really not good for her and with her being 85 years young.
She's been in denial and would not listen to any of us, but now we are telling her she has no choice if she wants to live. Not sure how I'm going to handle all this. I know she will have trouble understanding out to do it all if she is able to do dialysis at home. If not, she will have to be taken to Lafayette to have it done unless we can have a visiting nurse come to her house to help her with it. So much to do, learn and think about. It's all so mind boggleing. |
Aww sorry to hear that your mom needs to go on dialysis. I had a brother who had kidney disease and had a fistual put into his arm. Not fun at all, but I am sure they have advanced. I am going back over 30 something years ago with my brother.
I wish her the best and prayers are with you both.. |
