I have an appointment tomorrow to go look at a couple of Lab dams.
They're 3 yr olds, have had eyes, hips, and elbows certified, are DNA tested, and are AKC registered with very respectable bloodlines. If their temperaments are as good as what I know of them so far, they're exactly what I need.

Quite frankly, I'm getting frustrated with looking at dogs. lol Not that I don't enjoy meeting people and playing with dogs, but there's usually a long drive to and from, explaining my program and waiting to see if they're receptive or will chew me out for breeding hybrids :rolleyes: and of course finding a way to politely turn down the ones that just don't strike me as good enough to reproduce!

So please cross your fingers that these 2 are what I'm hoping for. I'd love not to have to go dog shopping anymore for a while!

Oh boy did I Janet!
I now have 2 new black lab dams. :D I'm done dog shopping for a LONG time! I hope with the young dogs I have that I don't have to add any more for at least 2-3 yrs. lol

They're nice typical labs, on the smaller side of average, very friendly, affectionate, have good recall and basic manners, and both won me over... for which I'm VERY glad!

He offered me a great deal on the chocolate dam he had too, if I'd take the 3 together, but I figure 5 dams is all I can handle, so I've limited myself to this. I will post photos in the next couple of days.

Right now I'm just very happy and relieved.

I am just thrilled for you Tink. Good thing the last ones just didn't work out. There is always a plan. Looking forward to the pictures.
