Need some prayer
Katie and Josh have been struggling financially with a new baby, only him working, etc. So yesterday at work Josh fell off of a 12' high roof and broke both bones in his lower arm where they join the wrist. He does construction, so there's no way he can go back to work for at least 4-6 weeks. He is set to see a specialist on Monday in the city to decide if he needs surgery to repair his injuries.
He should qualify for workmens comp, but it's only 2/3 of his normal pay which they've already been struggling to make ends meet on. Things aren't looking too good for them right now. Your prayers would be appreciated. Thanks |
So sorry to hear this, your family will definately be in my prayers. Please let us know if he's going to need surgery.

Wow Tink, how bad!! Lucky he didn't get killed!
Prayers are sent your way. I hope he mends with no problems. |
They just can't seem to get a break can they Tink. It can sure take away from the excitement of a new baby when finances get in the way. Hopefully everythings will work out better than they dreamed. I will sure add them to my prayer list.

I'm so sorry to hear this. A new baby is stressful, and then to have an injury and worry about finances, it just doesn't seem fair! I hope it all works out!
|
I'll keep them in my thoughts that they have the strength to get through this.

Thanks all
The hospital called tonight and said the radiologist found a 3rd fracture that the dr missed. As the evening progressed, Joshes hand swelled a lot more and the oxycodone wasn't touching the pain. At about 10 pm Josh noticed his fingers on that hand are all numb, so he called the local hosp and spoke with the dr he saw last night. He advised him to head to the city right away as it's likely nerve damage and the longer it does untreated, the more lasting it will be. He said he'd call and arrange for an ortho surgeon to be there when they get there. SO Joel and Shannon drove Katie and Josh down and I'm babysitting. Something tells me it's going to be a long night. |
I sure hope there is no nerve damage Tink and I also hope it wasn't too long a night for you. Wonderful that you got to sit and admire that grandbaby though.

Tink - update please!

They got back here at 3:30 this morning.
It seems the dr they saw there was not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He cranked and pulled and twisted on Joshes hand and wrist, decided that the problem was caused by all the swelling, and put on a temporary cast. He also offered him a note to miss work for 2 DAYS. (The first dr had given him one for 4 weeks and told him they'd likely need to extend it.) Anyone who knows anything about fractures knows you have to immobilize the joint above and below any fracture. So if its in a wrist joint like Joshes is, you splint from the knuckles up past the elbow. His new splint only holds his wrist. One of the fractures is a split up the bone rather than across it, so those can take a while to heal. He's supposed to go back in to see the local dr on Monday. Lucky for me, Summer woke up when they dropped her off, so I changed and fed her and she went right back to sleep until 6:30 this morning. |
Poor Josh, sometimes the Drs. don't know there head from their well...you know...LOL. When my son broke his wrist, they put a cast fro mid-hand around thumb and to just below the elbow, but he had to wear it for 6 weeks.
Maybe they can find something on the internet to do to help bring in some money Tink...wish i was good at this sort of thing so I could be of more help. I can only offer prayer. |
Tink,
So Sorry to hear about your kids. I will definately keep them in my prayers. Keep your chin up. Hopefully something good is just around the corner. We sometimes wonder why it all dumps on us at once. God Bless you all. |
I haven't hardly been on this weekend and I'm sorry that I missed hearing about this, Tink. I'll be praying for Josh's arm and their finances.

Prayers
Hi...sorry to hear that your children are struggling and hurting. Prayers are coming their way from Louisiana.
|
Tink hope his recovery goes well. Bobby had to have surgery on his wrist when he was 12 because the doctor didn't put the cast on correctly. It was 16 per cent displaced when they put it on and 32 per cent when they took it off. He ended up being in a cast 12 weeks.
