New Womens Group up here
 

I think I posted that I found a Women's Group in the local paper. They meet once each month at a local restaurant. I think that most of them are women who moved up here like me.

I was supposed to go to NYC today, to see the dentist. I chickened out this morning. The thought of spending a good 10 hours traveling to the train, taking the train, going by cab to the dentist, and coming back was too much for me this morning! I've been waiting since September to see the dentist, but I just couldn't make the trip today. I will reschedule.

Anyway, having a free day, I called this group and I'm going tonight.
Unless I chicken out of this too:rolleyes:.

Maybe you can find a dentist nearer to you. The ladies group sounds like a great idea!!! Maybe they can recommend a dentist closer to you.

Sounds like fun Judy go to the group meeting tonight.. I am sure your going to meet someone from our old area.. Report back ok... lol

As far as the dentist that is a long trip but you have to finish it Judy. I am going tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed that he will give me the ok to start one side so my dentist can start making the teeth. Doesn't that sound lovely .. lol

If it were me, I'd NEVER travel that far for that long to go to the dentist!! :eek: I'd certainly be looking for a closer dentist. If I couldn't find one, then I suppose I'd have to do all that traveling, but OMG! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

I'm so anxious for her to get back and tell us about the meeting. Hope she had a great time.

I did! What a wonderful group. It's called the Catskills Women's' Network, and has been around for years. I don't know a lot about the philosophy, etc., but I am going to a board meeting at the end of the month. There were such friendly, nice women. I think I will make some good friends here.

I'm so glad I went. One of my neighbors was there. I met her a while ago. She's a bit strange, but I'm meeting up with her on Saturday. Our condo manager is a singer and we're going to her show together Saturday evening. I'll find things to like about her, I'm sure.

There was a speaker there. He spoke about five women who made our area what it is today. I am a little over the powerful women thing. I already know that we rule the universe. I did learn some history about "The Upper Catskills," though. I think this might be something very interesting to pursue.

I'm so glad you had a great time. Looks like you'll be able not only to enjoy being with some women friends, but to learn about your area....how cool.

Judy, so glad you had such a wonderful time!! Sounds like a great way to make friends. This move seems to be working out very, very well!!

Now, if you can just find a dentist that is not so far away.....

Like Gina, I am having extensive dental work done. I have to go to NYU College of Dentistry to finish up the work they started. After that, I can find a dentist nearby.

I'm glad you had a good time at the meeting Judy. Sounds like a lot of fun. I wish there was something like that around here, but then again, I already have so many commitments. Another one might be too much. lol

That's so great you found a group of girls that you can get together with.
That is something some of my friends and I are going to start this year.
One night a month getting together and going out to eat or to a movie.
Just to be social. What fun.:icecream::partytime:

Judy, what a great idea to join a women's group!!! You'll be able to meet new friends and learn more about your area!! .........Maybe one of these women has a brother or a male friend.............
