Bland Diet

Hi Girls,
All this talk about diet and exercise. I wish I could gain some weight.
Dr put me on bland diet last week. I hate it. I so dearly love popcorn and that's one of the things I'm not suppose to eat. No nuts, no caffeine, No Salads, No fresh fruit or veggies. It really sucks. I go back to doctor on the 19th. So hope I can get back to normal soon. If it's not one thing it's something else.:thumbdwn::(

Janet you know me. I tell everything. LOL. My colon is giving me major fits again.
As for eating. Baked potatoes, jello, noodle soup, chicken, greenbeans. That's all I've had lately.
No grease. And I fry everything. Oh well. That's ok. It could be worse.

So sorry you are having to do this. It's one thing to choose to restrict your diet, but quite different if you are required too. Hope you are back to normal very very soon!!

:thankyou: Marilyn

So sorry to hear this! Can you eating pudding, ice cream or yogurt?

Linda, I'm so sorry that you're having problems. I can't imagine eating a bland diet but if it helps you to get better it wil be worth it. {{{{{Linda}}}}}

I feel for you. Hope that you can get back to a normal diet.
I had an attack of diverticulosis several years ago and could not eat my favorite things, popcorn, salads, nuts, corn, peas, beans, don't know how I got cured but I can eat everything now.
Good luck, thinking of you.

Thanks Donna,
The girls at work ordered out yesterday and I ended up getting a salad.
Boy was that a major mistake. Won't be doing that again. :(

I had to drink Ensure to put on weight, chocolate, and put it in the freezer, was good.

Aww Linda that is tough to cut out foods that you love so. Good luck and I hope your feeling better in no time and can resume eating the way you enjoy.

Poor thing! Is it the diverticulosis, or the colon? Either way, it's no fun. I have all of these plus acid reflux and IBS. I have had to watch my diet periodically. Luckily for me, it all fits right in with Weight Watchers.

I was eating really bad food since I moved, but I know what I can get away with.
I consistently do avoid foods that I know will kickstart a reaction. Try to find foods that you love that fit into what you can eat. Like sweet potatoes instead of baked regular potatoes, etc.

You have my sympathy, Linda.

Thanks Judy, I go to the dr this morning. I have ulcerative colitis. I was doing ok until July of last year. So I guess I hope I find out something this morning.
As for sweet potatoes. I'm a picky eater and thats one of the things I haven't really tried. I guess it's time. Thank You.
