Fog Today

With the temps being up to 55 degrees yesterday it brought some fog with it for this morning. It is really thick out there so we have a two hour delay. Kind of screws up the day a bit, I was going to run to town, so I'll stay home and finish getting laundry done. I was holding off doing some of it, because the guys are going camping with Scout over the weekend.

We're about 10 degrees warmer and it is so muggy out, it feels like it's raining. Stay safe!

It was foggy here yesterday too, maybe today, not sure cuz I'm stil home. It does feel muggy - we got up to the middle 80's yesterday so there is some warm moist air coming up from the gulf for sure!!

The fog lifted enough by the time we picked up the kids that it wasn't bad at all. It was really bad at 3:00 and 5:30 AM. I wasn't surprised there was a two hour delay. We are suppose to have some rain this evening and it has been misty out so far. The gravel roads are so wet and muddy I feel like I'm sinking as I drive over them. So hard to believe that in this day and age we still have gravel roads.

I did notice today also that it's so ugly outside. Some of you know out it looks when the snow is all melted and it's so muddy and brown looking. I'll be glad when things start to turn green but that won't be until later next month.

We're really muggy out today too. We have a slight chance of rain today and then on Friday and Saturday a slight chance of snow. The weather is so weird!!!

There are lots of gravel roads in Oklahoma. In fact, our farm is on a dirt road, no gravel!!! When it rains, it is a real adventure getting to and from the farm.

Our weather definitely changed!! We're a lot cooler than yesterday and we still have snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow, but it's not much of a chance. And wouldn't you know that it's on the weekend that I DON'T want it to snow!! Bummer!!!

It is beautiful here today, warmer and sunny.. They calling for snow over the weekend.. ughhhhhhhhh when is the Spring going to be here!!!

Janet 02-27-2009 07:07 AM

I don't know when it will get here Gina...but I'm sure looking forward to it. Our 50 degree weather is now over and the temp will continue to drop into the low 30's with a horrible windchill.

Oh spring.......where are you?????

gja1000 02-27-2009 05:10 PM

It was 92 here today - UGH!!! I have lived here for 23 years, and I have NEVER had to consistently use my airconditioner in FEBRU - FREAKIN' - ARY!!!!!

I look forward to November and March as we usually don't have to use either heat or air during those months and I LOVE my electric bill. No such luck this year!!!

We are supposed to be in the high 50's tomorrow so it will be much cooler here too tomorrow.

I've seen that there are tornadoes and other severe weather west and south of us... I hope it doesn't affect anyone here. Stay safe.

I grew up about a mile down a country dirt road. When it started raining, we would take a vehicle to the end, by the highway, because the road would be impassible. Then, you had to drive the tractor to the vehicle, make your trip, leave the vehicle at the highway, and drive the tractor back to the house.

My senior year in high school, my Dad bought an old 4WD Jeep. Through the years, the road has been graveled and is nice enough, except when the creek gets up.

And, I live on a dirt road now, but it never gets slippery.

It is so windy outside, I've been out setting up plants all morning. It's around 55, gonna get in the mid 30s tonight.

After the gravel roads thaw from winter, they sure seem like dirt roads. The plows go down and end up throwing the gravel to the sides. Doesn't make much sense to put gravel down...plow it off and then come spring...work it up and put more down.

Diana, I'm so glad you finally got your snow, I know you've been wanting some for quite a while now. It's going to get into the 30's today, but Thursday and Friday it's calling for temps in the high 50's....yay....I sure hope so. Hope it's even warmer for the weekend.
