My car is sick

Craig (my mechanic) towed my car this morning. It doesn't start randomly. Until this morning, if I sat for a few minutes, it would start. This morning - nothing doing until Craig came with his truck. Of course, it started. He's keeping it overnight because it has to not start so that he can fix it.

I have to go down to the city Monday, so I'm hoping he finds the problem. I would hate to get stuck down there!

Oh no! I hope nothing serious is wrong. I HATE having car trouble...it always seems to happen at the least convenient time possible!

There is nothing more scary to me than to breakdown on the road.
Hope it is nothing serious.

I'm very lucky that the boys can usually fix what is wrong, not always, but most of the time. I've also been lucky that I don't have much go wrong with the vehicles I've had. I would be so afraid to breakdown out on the road somewhere.

I hope he can get if fixed quickly and that it won't cost you a whole lot.

Do you still have your Celica? I have Dae Lynn's '97 sitting out here from when she hit the deer if you ever need parts. We could work something out. I hope that you are up and running with out too much trouble.

You are just having a heck of a time. Hope it all works out for you.

Thanks Diana!

They still can't find out what the problem is. They changed the oil, took off the studded tire, and I needed rear brakes, so at least those things are done.

I'll get it tomorrow morning. Craig has to bring it over here, and I'll drive him back.

He had no time today. Is that a strong message to get my own ride, or what?

Hopefully your car just had a bad day and will now be back to running like a top...lol. Car trouble sucks, but at least you'll not have to worry about brakes.

Oh boy Judy, your having a tough week. First your water heater now your car. Now I hope you go play lotto and win BIG!

Marilyn 04-01-2009 07:27 PM

Judy, sure hope the problem is resolved. A car not starting is quite a problem.

I missed the thread about the water heater problem. Sure hope it wasn't too bad.

Are they both fixed now Judy?

No:( The car is running beautifully, and has been starting, but Craig can't figure out the problem until it actually won't start at all. I do like that he's not running to put in unnecessary parts, but I don't like driving a car that will give me trouble.

However, I have decided not to worry about it. I have to go to NYC to the dentist on Monday. Other than that, I will be fine. Because it's a stick shift, if I park it on a hill or get someone to push me in 2nd gear, it will start and get me to Craig's.

I have driven cars that have been in a cloud of smoke, had zero gears left, I ran out of gas in the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, and did I ever tell you guys about the time I backed up on the Triborough Bridge because I passed my exit? Boy, did I get called every name in the book by all the people behind me! When I ran out of gas in the tunnel, the cop and I just started laughing when I told him why I was just standing still at the very end of the tunnel. A lot of horns were honking that day! I also gave a crack addict $5.00 to go get me gas when I got towed out. He came back with the gas too. I knew he would, and he gave me some of his candy that he had been eating.

The hot water heater Steve said he will fix when I asked him who to call. He's an electrician, and it's an electric heater.

When is another story. I was po'ed when I went over yesterday and he was doing yard work. The day before, they went out to lunch. I have to keep my mouth shut for the most part though. I also have to remember that he is not drinking now, and is out of work. Before, he would have just been drinking. in other words, his coping skills are not great, but he isn't drinking,
I'm not getting pushy when he is accomplishing this! I also have to remember that this is not personal.

Thank goodness I do not have to be quiet about how annoying they both are here!!!
