Diabetes

Have an appt in the morning. I have all of the symptoms, Grandmother, Mother and sister have it. I have been so weak, trembeling, my feet are on fire, drinking water and peeing 35 times a day, blurry vision, itching.
Just say a little prayer for me please.

Janet 05-28-2009 08:22 AM

Prayer being said.....let us know.

I'm so sorry, Donna. With it being in your family you know what you have to do as far as diet and stuff. It's very hard. My husband is diabetic and I know that it's a lot of work. Having a lot of choices that are sugar-free helps a lot!! Maybe you can control it with diet or with the pills. Good luck!

That is one good thing, I don't eat sweets very often.

Blueyes 05-28-2009 02:24 PM

I hope you aren't diabetic Donna! Please keep us posted with the results. You are smart to go get it checked out now.

They just did the meter test this morning and it was elevated, have to go back the 9th for more test.
Thanks for your thoughts.

There's an A1C test that will give you a three month average of your blood sugar. It's a pretty good way to find out if your diabetic. Does your doctor have one of those scheduled?

When my husband had his tested for the first time the doctor came in and congratulated him on being the highest person they'd ever tested. He was at 13 which is averaging 300-400. That's very high!

Yes, it is scheduled for the 9th of June.
I had a stopped up ear and you can't believe what they DUG out of it and it hurt. Never had problems like that, it was a wax build-up. They didn't tell me what to do to prevent it, guess I will do some googling.

Donna, i hope your test come back good, or that you can at least controll it with diet &/or pills and not have to use the injections. Good luck!!

My mom's sugar runs very high also, sometimes not even reading on the meter, she does have trouble sticking with her diet (she loves her chocolate) but she also takes prednizone (sp) wich makes it run high and is part of the reason she became diabetic, she has been on the prednizone for at least 6 yrs and will probably be on it the rest of her life.

My Mother had the same thing Lynne, also from prednisone. I don't remember if she took anything or regulated her food intake.

Donna, I hope you come up negative for diabetes!

donna1990 05-30-2009 10:27 AM

Thank you Judy.

Gina 06-04-2009 04:23 AM

Donna wishing you well. I hope to that it comes back negative...

donna1990 06-04-2009 01:10 PM

Thanks Gina, I really don't feel good, maybe it's all in my head.

Janet 06-04-2009 03:05 PM

I hope whatever it is Donna, it's easy to treat and you will feel good again. Keep us informed.
