Good morning everyone!
How was your weekend?
As mentioned in the Mexican food thread - we had relatives down this weekend and had fun taking them on the "zoom" tour (meaning FAST) of Austin - eating lots of Mexican food, chile rellenos, in particular. Guess where we are going today??? Betcha can't guess! (scroll down) CABELAS!!! (It's an outdoor hunting/fishing store) Aren't you SURPRISED! LOL! I bet you think we spend all our time/money in hunting/fishing stores!!! LOL! Well, almost, but not quite! Actually, my husband wears their slip on shoes year round - they are his favorite shoes. They are normally $30.00 per pair, but are on sale right now for $15.00. So, that is his excuse for needing to go, to get a couple of pairs of shoes. NOW, the $64,000 question - Will that be the only thing he buys??? I'll let you know! |
LOLOL.....those kinds of stores are fun to shop in no matter how often ya go. Always something new coming out. I don't think there is a Cabela's close to us. I think they were going to build one in Indianapolis, but don't know if they did. Guess I'll have to check online to see if there are any close.
Have a great time with your guests. |
We got two pairs of shoes for him and he got his hunting/fishing license renewed. Oh, and we bought something for our son-in-laws birthday next month. So, it was a productive trip without spending too much money!

Cabela's is fun to walk around in because of all the mountings but I hardly ever find anything there for myself either. But I go because my husband enjoys going there. He certainly tags along with me often enough that I figure I can do the same for him.
It sounds like your husband got a really good deal on his shoes. Too bad that you didn't find anything!! |
My dad gets a Cabela's catalogue in the mail, but I don't think there are any stores in Canada. My friend (her parents are good friends with mine) used to go there everytime she'd be in Texas with her ex-boyfriend who was a long-haul trucker. If my dad had his way, the whole house would be decked out in chandeliers made of antlers  Luckily, my mom wins when it comes to decorating :D
ETA: I just checked the website, and one store has just opened in Canada... but in Montreal! A little too far for a shopping trip lol |
