My Laptop is Fixed!!!
 

I checked online this morning and was sent a message that my laptop was fixed....yay!!!!! :cheer::cheer:

As soon as I got home from the route I hurried to Lafayette to pick it up. It was still under manufacturers warranty so it didn't cost me anything. They gave me the old hard drive so I can see if I can find someone that would be able to get my pictures..etc off of it a little bit cheaper. Best Buy wanted $100 to do it and I just didn't want to spend that much.

Tomorrow I will start using it again instead of Ricky's old laptop. I'll need to put a new antivirus on it since the one on it had expired. So excited to be able to use it again.

YAY:cheer: So glad it's fixed Janet! And I know you have to be happy that it was under warranty:thumbup: Can't you just buy a flash drive to get your pictures?

Great!! Wouldn't it be nice if laptops lasted a long time? I know you're glad to have yours back!

I'm on my third computer in 7 years!!
And NOT because I wanted to upgrade. Always a problem that I had no choice but to buy new.

Makes me furious that while technology is at its highest, quality is at its lowest. :mad:

Janet after rereading this, I see that they gave you the hard drive so strike the flash drive idea! Guess I wasn't paying close enough attention....again:rolleyes:

Crappy hard drives! You can get the pix back. You need a computer geek to get into your old hard drive and pull out the files.

I hope you can get your files all back Janet! I still keep in touch with my geeky ex boyfriend so when my hard drive went, he charged me for a new one but put it in for free. But he couldn't get anything from the old hard drive... it had wiped itself clean :( All of Layla's puppy pictures were on there and I had no backups. I cried! All I have now are memories!

If you ask around a little you'll probably find some computer kid that can get your stuff off for you. Ask Ricky if he knows someone. I'm glad that your computer's up and going!!

I think I know of someone that can do it...I'll ask soon, but there is no way I'd ask some kid to do it.....LOL. I'd be afraid of what they'd find....like my passwords.


ANYWAY.....THE DARN LAPTOP ISN'T WORKING AGAIN. I was on it for about 90 minutes and all of a sudden it went black and won't turn back on. So...it's off to Lafayette again tomorrow. GRRRRRRRR

I'm so sorry that you're still dealing with your computer. Aren't they the most fustrating things!!!!

They really are frustrating when they don't work. But I'm thankful we have a few spares around here...lol. I love the friends I've made and can't hardly stand being away for a whole day without checking on everyone.

The geek at Best Buy turned it on and it immediately went black and shut off. Thinks it may be the mother board...lol. He said since this is the 2nd time it's been in, they will expedite it...I told him I thought it was fast the first time and he said it should be even quicker this time. I told him, it's not a race and to just getting it fixed would be fine.

I was so enjoying having it back last night until it quit on me. Oh well....it' shall return!!! :)

How old is the computer, and what brand? That's a lot of damage, and I know you aren't throwing it around, or downloading all kinds of illegal stuff!

It is greaty that they are rushing it though. Best Buy is pretty good, aren't they? Seems to me that they should replace it, like a car, because of the lemon law.

It's an HP Judy. I love everything about it. I think the problem was it just all overheated because I had it on my lap so much and for so long. It was less than a year old so the warranty is taking care of everything.
