Good morning everyone!

I just wanted to say "Good Morning Everyone!" It's good to be home and I'm looking forward to a fresh new week!

I love coming here to see what everyone is up to - good and bad! ;)

I hope everyone has a good week!

TTYL! :)

Good morning Gayle!! I'm glad you're back, and I hope you have a great week:D

I'm waiting for the tv repairman. I have a 52 inch Samsung LCD that is 2 1/2 years old. The warranty went out 6 months ago and the tv won't even come on:mad:
So, I'll probably have a $2300. paperweight:rolleyes:

But it's a beautiful sunny day, and I intend to enjoy it:D

Good morning to you too Gayle! I am also planning to enjoy my day. It is bright and sunny so I am going out today to run errands, post office, grocery shopping, etc.
Have a great week!:)

Betsi, sorry about your tv, we replaced ours with a new one about a year ago. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to repair the old one.

gja1000 02-01-2010 04:59 PM

Oh Betsi! Sorry to hear about the TV. We have a 52 inch Sony that is 5.5 years old and is showing funny colors on the screen sometimes. I fear it is on its last leg. Don't you remember when TVs used to last 10-15 years!!!

I know.. TV's and laptop computers are a pain!!! The repairman came and I got my tv fixed for $215. Beats the heck out of buying a new one, lol!

gja1000 02-01-2010 06:51 PM

WHEW! You were LUCKY!!! :)

Blueyes 02-01-2010 08:43 PM

Yep...and VERY thankful:D

judy 02-02-2010 05:20 AM

$215 is a good price Betsi! Good for you!

I moved up here with 3 of the old TV's, each with about 26" screens. The depth of these TV sets is larger than the screens, and they weigh a ton. One I bought, and the other two were free from a friend when she moved. They all are at least 10 years old, probably more. I will keep them until they die!

I may buy a larger screen for my bedroom because I can't see the one I have from my bed. Or, I may just put it on something to raise it higher.

I am one of those who thinks TV's and cars are supposed to last forever.

We have a 42 inch Samsung that's having problems coming on. It sits and clicks for awhile before it comes on. I'm not happy because it's only a couple of years old. Our last one lasted for about 18 years. They don't make things as well as they used to because they lose money......this way we have to buy more often. Gayle.....I'm so glad that you're back home all safe and sound!!! I thought about you so much on your trip! I would love to go somewhere like that! I hope that you found some time to enjoy your stay there!!

Diana, your TV has faulty capacitors. This is a huge problem with Samsung. They haven't done a recall, but they have had a huge number of complaints about this same problem. Mine clicked like that, but it never came on.

Betsi! you are a wonder!!! A TV repairman to boot! ;) It's the pits the way newer TV's, appliances, etc, just do not last long enough.

I'm glad that you let Diana know what the problem is so that when the repairman comes, she can be prepared - I don't trust them!

Blueyes 02-06-2010 07:31 PM

LOL, you're funny Gayle!!

DianaB 02-08-2010 07:12 AM

Thanks, Betsi, for the information! I had noticed that there were a lot of complaints on the internet with Samsung tvs. We bought ours because Samsung was the top tv in the Consumer's Digest. Bummer!!!!!
