For Mom
I have to have Mom over to Lafayette this morning to have the cath put back in her abdomen. The infection is gone so it's safe to have this done. It will be another 3-4 weeks before she can use it (go back on home dialysis) but she has hated going for the hemodialysis.
She knows she's going to have to be really careful so this doesn't happen again. It's so easy to get an infection. It will be done on an outpatient basis and after it's done...I will need to take her to the dialysis center to have the cath flushed. I would really appreciate any prayers you can send for my Mom. That she gets through the procedure okay and with very little pain. |
This is good news Janet! I am so glad she has recovered from the infection. I know how much she likes her independence, and this does take a lot of physical stress off of you.
One day at a time! My prayers and love to you. |
She's in my prayers!! Hugs to you both!!!
I'm sorry i am just now seeing this, you know i am always praying for your mom and you.
Mom did great throught he procedure, but is still pretty sore. I feel so bad for her. She had to go for dialysis today so when she gets home...I'll probably go to see her for awhile.
Poor Violet! She's been through so much. Hugs from Kansas!!!
Here's hoping she is out of pain soon, and back on the road to independance.
Mom is doing pretty well, but her abdomen is still sore. She forgets that it was sore the last time too. They gave her some Loritab pain pills and then are working. I know that Mom will be so happy to go back to doing dialysis at home. It does get to be a pain sometimes driving to Lafayette so often and sometimes twice in one day, but we do it because we love her.
I wish Mom didn't have to go through so much at this time in her life. |
Janet...you and your Mom are in my prayers. I hope that she is back to being able to do her dialysis at home soon. Hugs to you and to her.
I go to pick her up at dialysis this morning, my brother took her there. When I pick her up we then have to go to the kidney center to have the cath flushed again. In about two more weeks she should be able to go back on the home dialysis. She's feeling much better now and not having near the pain she was. My Mom is one tough lady!
How's your Mom doing now? I hope that things are better.
I just called her and she was tired. She had dialysis today and it came with great news. She has to go one more time to Lafayette for the hemodialysis and then Monday I'll take her over to her kidney center to get a refresher course and then Monday night she will start her home dialysis again. She is thrilled that she won't have to get up early to be in Laf. at 6 in the morning. As her transportation providers...my brothers and I are glad too.
To sum it up...Mom is really doing good. She is such a determined survivor. |
Bless her! She is inspiring!
That is so great to hear!!! I know that you're relieved that she's doing better!!! Give your wonderful Mom a big smoochy kiss from me!!! I just think that she's soooo cute!!!
I do have to admit ..... she's one amazing 87 year old. Hope I'm as strong as she is when I'm her age...if I make it that far. :)
