Fading Away

I check this site everyday, but end up at YT. There hasn't been much new on here and it worries me that this site won't be around. I enjoy it so much and all the ladies here.

I keep trying to think of new topics, but I'm running low on ideas. Most times when I am here, I am here alone. So if anyone has anything to talk about, I'm ready, willing and able.

Quilty as charged. I don't have your yorkie dogs. So I"m sorry to say this but it's not my thing. I love this site too. But this past week and a half have been way to busy. I have 2 days off this next week hope to be able to be back on here.
I"ll see if i can come up with some new threads myself.:o

Most of the time when I logged on the 4WT last week, I was the ONLY ONE logged on!!!!!!!! So, in those cases, or when there are no new topics, I wind up at YorkieTalk. Wish we could recruit some more members!!!!!!! I REALLY wish when someone had an OFF TOPIC thread to post on YorkieTalk, that they would just post it here. Oh well.

I feel the same way, Janet. I've been on several times in the past week with no one else on. I've had a lot going on lately but I try to check in daily to see if anything's going on. I've been ending up on YT also.

My exact sentiments, I have been here myself these last few days. I do enjoy coming here , we must recruit others to keep this forum alive ....

Tink 11-04-2006 06:53 PM

"Build it and they will come" LOL

I worked with 2 other women for 6 years at building a site that's frequented mostly by women. When I resigned last December they had over 10,000 members.

We all need to keep posting. Since this site has no one marketing it and no hosts or staff working it, it's up to us members to make it if we truly want it to survive. I made a bunch of posts today to try to get things moving, and know if we would ALL just start a few threads each week this site could grow too.

Let the chatty cathy in you sing! ;)

URGH!!!!!!!! i know what it feels like to sit here all alone, it gets lonely LOL

We all really want it to work, so it will ... i agree, we need new topics to keep it fresh and interesting. I have also noticed a lot of posts with only few replies.

It's depressing when your'e the only one on here...I always wonder on over to YT too, cause there are people over there...We do need some recruits!!

As long as there are members actively partcipating and enjoying 4WomenTalk and as long as we can financially afford to run it, this community will stay open. So please don't worry about that. :)

Just like on YorkieTalk, we do depend on our members to spread the word, the more people we have, the more active our community will be. There were once only a handful of members on YT, and by handful, we mean like 30, of which only two or three were active. That meant just five or ten POSTS a day, if we were lucky. Feel free to post any news links, recipes, funny stories, or just about anything else you feel your fellow members will enjoy. And please give it some time, it's very hard to grow a community overnight.

Thank you so much Administration!!! I truly love and enjoy this site and the ladies here. My wish is that it will always be here to learn from, share, get support and more.

Maybe when we are visiting other sites...we can mention this one if it is allowed. And then of course....we can mention it again on YT. :)

Tink 11-07-2006 03:49 PM

Although that would be great if it was allowed Janet, I'd be careful advertising this or any site on a different site. Some get really nasty about it... especially if they're paid for by sponsers who fork out advertising dollars for the privilege. I've worked at 3 different sites that were sponsored and none of them would allow that. More than likely you'd get a warning about it and the post would be removed. :( Some will go so far as to pull your posting privileges for it.

Janet 11-07-2006 03:53 PM

I don't belong to any other sites anyway...just here and YT. I thought it most likely wasn't allowed, but I thought that if others were on different sites, they would know if they could or couldn't.

Just trying to offer suggestions. I've sent this sites address to just about everyone I know, but no one has come here yet.

Usually I am here either early in the mornings before work or late in the evening before bed. Sometimes I am too tired to post but I still enjoy reading all the other posts. I find it hard to find time to get here everyday here lately because we were offered unlimited OT at work and I have been sucking it up. Christmas is coming you know! I am going to post about my job here in a bit!

They are now blocking all forum sites where I work. I used to log on at lunch for a while. Now just in the morning or usually late evening, and I too do not have time to do much posting. Will try to do better.

One problem I have is that my opinions on so many things are just not mainstream these days. Maybe that is what this site needs though. There are threads that I just skipped because the subject matter was not of interest. Guess I can post some stuff that I think is good and others can just ignore if they find me offensive.

I've always enjoyed your posts Marilyn so please no matter what your opinion, I would love to hear it on anything. There are times, I too, don't quite know if I should post, but hey, I do it anyway.
