It's true if you get into the freezer a lot, then bending over is not good. Since our water and ice is in the door, we rarely get into the freezer - so it being on the bottom is good for us. Someone told me that bottom freezers don't last as long, not sure why?? Mom has had a bottom freezer for many years - not sure how many - it's in my garage right now. Yes, we have a fridge in the house and one in the garage.
PLUS, we have an upright freezer in the garage too. Waaaaay too much refridgerator/freezer space for two people!
