Maddie I'm just like you! I think Christmas only happens in my family because of me lol. I would always be forcing my dad to put up our lights outside, and every year since I was about 10, I put up our Christmas tree alone while listening to Christmas carols
I am such a Christmas nut.
This year I'm not going home because my parents are coming here. My brother and his girlfriend are having Christmas at their house with her two little girls, and he only lives a few blocks from my place. Since their place is so small (and I don't want to wake up Christmas morning alone!) my parents are staying in my spare room. On Christmas eve, my brother is making salmon for everyone, since his girlfriend doesn't eat meat on Christmas eve. Then, she is cooking a turkey on Christmas day, and I will cook a goose to take over.
Renovations are eating up so much time that I'm not feeling as festive as I should. Scott and I still need to take out carpet and put down laminate in the spare room, install a ceiling fan, and put up our new kitchen cabinets which just came in on Friday. All that needs to be done before my parents get here on Christmas eve
All I want to do is drink some egg nog and watch holiday movies!
