I plant tomatoes in little planters on my deck every year. I think this year I may look at other veggies to grow too... as long as they don't need to go too deep. Summer starts pretty late here so my tomatoes aren't usually ready until September. I might plant a little earlier this year and just make sure to keep them inside in the evenings and overnight when it gets frosty.
And on that note, it's still freezing here! Although, not as cold as it has been. I didn't plug in my car last night and it started up this morning with no problem. In the next couple of weeks it's supposed to get to around the freezing point, so above normal for this time of year. But, I see that Mazatlan, Mexico is sitting around the 28 degree mark (82 F) lately, so that will be a nice break
