I know you can't wait to get to sunny Mexico, Lindsay!!! You will have so much fun!
Speaking of tomatoes - yes, you can grow them on your patio, Judy. Just be sure to buy the determinant plants (as opposed to indeterminant plants). Determinant plants do not get so large and can easily be grown in containers.
Guess what! I have broccoli and cauliflower in my garden right now!! Can you believe it!!!
I planted a broccoli and cauliflower plant, one each, last fall and they just didn't do much of anything at all - didn't grow much. I think it rained so much this fall/winter, it stunted their growth or drowned them

Anyway, I didn't protect them from the freezing temps a few weeks ago, and they kind of wilted down but then I noticed they perked up when it warmed up and the sun came out. I looked down at them last week and there are 5 broccoli crowns growing and one good sized cauliflower head. Whooo Hooo!!! I'm going to plant lots of them this fall now that I know they will make it though the winter, even when it gets below freezing.
OK, now does anyone have any good broccoli and cauliflower recipes????
