Once when I was in college we had a blizzard (in Oklahoma) and I was staying in a trailer with my girlfriend for the weekend. The doors to the trailer were on the north and there was a terrific wind with the blizzard. The snow drifted up over both doors of the trailer and we could not get out for 3 days! We didn't have any phone service, but have electricity! I didn't like that feeling AT ALL! Now, we could have gotten out the windows on the other side of the trailer, had we really needed to - but still, it was, like you say, creepy!

Three days! Scary! What really freaked me out was that there was no way to get to the road. I could get out of the house - into the snow. I figured if there was a fire I would be okay hanging out in wet snow with the dogs.
The plow has been here already, thank goodness! My front steps and the path are entirely snowed in, and the steps to the road too. It has stopped snowing, and I guess they will dig out the people who are living here today. Most of the people who live here are weekenders or summer people. They don't need to be dug out right away. I will feel much better when I can walk up to the road!
