Winter here is usually over around the end of April. Last year we had two blizzards in April, but it warmed up a lot in May. Our May long weekend (around the 20th) is the unofficial "go to the lake and open your cabin for the season" weekend. Usually the ice isn't completely off the lakes until the end of May.
I was surprised when our Arizona people at work were asking how much sunlight we have in the winter because I didn't realize it was so different! In the winter it gets light around 9 am, and dark again by around 5 pm. I spend all my daylight hours at work

It's dark when I come to work, dark when I leave work, and I have no windows! We don't have daylight savings in my province.
