I'd check e-bay. I bought my daughter one there a few years ago and got a really great deal on a new one in the box. I think it has a lifetime guarantee, and if anything goes wrong, you can take it to any Chi dealer and they can turn it in for a new one. I'd check on this, but that was my understanding. I have a cheap one I bought at a salon supply. It's ceramic, and works very well also for about 1/3 the cost.
