I read that the wedding was Scientology, but they had a civil ceremony in California before going to Rome. Italy would not have allowed a Catholic ceremony because Tom is divorced, and Italy does not recognize a Scientology ceremony. They did not apply for a marriage license in Italy, so the rumor is that they did the civil wedding in Calif. to make it all legal.

The whole thing is really strange, and I think he is manipulating Katie. But someone must think he's got it together to put him in charge of United Artists.
