Janet, it's not good for you to sit for very long at the computer. Think of your head as a bowling ball (head) on a stick (vertebrea in your neck). When you sit for long periods and look at the computer, especially when you are leaning your head forward looking down, that bowling ball puts lots of strain on that stick. After a while the stick can bend so much it becomes damaged. In your case the cushions between the vertebrae bones are pushing out and are touching a nerve or allowing the bone to touch a nerve. You want to keep all the strain off that stick right now.

Lol! I know that sounds dumb, but it is true. So it's probably not a good idea to be on the computer for very long. Unless that is, you have a set-up like Gary's. He has his computer hooked up to a 32 inch TV. He has a Lazy Boy rocker in front of the TV and a lap tray foe his keyboard, so he can be on the computer and lean his head back on the recliner headrest which keeps the pressure off his neck. Gary has the exact same issue as you but he is lucky that the injections help him because with all his health problems, they do NOT want to do surgery on him.
