I go throught bouts of sleeplessness too Marilyn. Mine usually last a week or a little longer where I wake up around 3 or 3:30 and can't go back to sleep. Sometimes I can, but end up feeling worse than if I would have just stayed up. I do know that sleep professionals tell you not to get out of bed, because you are training your mind and body to get up at this time, but when you lay there and all the things in the world are running through your head, it's hard to go back to sleep.
I hope this doesn't last too long for you and hopefully, since your on vacation you'll be able to catch up on some sleep later on. I think the holidays have a lot to do with it right now...not sure what the reasons are throughout the year though. Probably some kind of stress we are not quite aware of.
