I lived in Staten Island, NY at the time and I never put the news on in the morning. For some reason I put on the Today show and saw the 2nd plane go into the building. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My husband was working local so he got home quick but my friends were in Manhattan. They all made it home eventually.
One of my friends had to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and another friend worked in the World Trade Center but was late for work that day and saw it from the bus. I knew a few people who died but thankfully all my friends and family were safe.

I remember us just sitting in front of the TV all day in shock. And it broke my heart when I looked at my kids who were only 11 months old and 2 years old at the time and how inncent they were and what a sick world we live in.
