There are much more important things going on in the world. Maybe people don't want to think about the important issues, and reading about Paris is easier or something.

Marilyn, I agree, the news is always just so depressing! I did however read that the American Bald Eagle is no longer on the endangered list so it's not always bad...I just try to skip over all of the Paris Hilton/Lindsey Lohan stuff. I think they get way too much media attention for making the wrong choices and I think it was outrageous to pay Paris $1 million for an interview after she got out of jail...
Like you said, there are more important things people could be reading/talking about...
