Actually, it was a different assignment Diana. It is for my Human Behavior in the Macro Social Environment course. (Fancy way of saying we study why groups and communities behave the way they do and how this affects individuals...)
The assignment was to concentrate on a community problem and find a new, unique, never-before-thought-of solution to the problem. We weren't allowed to do research of any kind! I chose graffiti as my problem, because it's a problem with the community (it looks bad) and because it leads to problems in the individuals who do it (they could end up in jail). The solution was a local graffiti art gallery to display this form of "art" and a community center where the participants could come and create their art (a "hang out" of sorts to keep them out of trouble/danger). It was focused on young adults and adolescents, but there was a lot more to it as well. Hard to explain in just a paragraph, lol! I think the project turned out really well in the end though.
