The assignment was to concentrate on a community problem and find a new, unique, never-before-thought-of solution to the problem. We weren't allowed to do research of any kind! I chose graffiti as my problem, because it's a problem with the community (it looks bad) and because it leads to problems in the individuals who do it (they could end up in jail). The solution was a local graffiti art gallery to display this form of "art" and a community center where the participants could come and create their art (a "hang out" of sorts to keep them out of trouble/danger). It was focused on young adults and adolescents, but there was a lot more to it as well. Hard to explain in just a paragraph, lol! I think the project turned out really well in the end though.  |
