I think I would handle this in a different way. I would seriously try to nip it in the bud quick. I have a 10 year old daughter who likes boys and thinks they are cute and I have told her that is fine. She will be 11 in August. I have also told her that it goes NO farther than that beause she is still too little to be thinking about kissing boys. I am a Sub-Teacher at her school and I am shocked by some of the behavior that the younger ones display. Some are so boy crazy that it is really scary.

My daughter use to be friends with a girl who was 2 years younger than she. Well this little girl came over to have a sleepover and all she wanted to do was call her boyfriend and at 10 PM on top of it. UMM HELLO.... I told her that to begin with she was not playing on the phone all night and another thing that she was just too young (7 1/2 at the time) to be messing around with boys. All she could talk about was her what her BF had bought her or that she liked kissing him... Well I made sure that the friendship came to an end. She has only gotten worse and now has some what of a "rep" even at her young age.

The kids are just growing up so fast these days that it is scary. Girls will drive you crazy won't they! I sure know that mine is. Things will work out I am sure. I think just letting her know that little girls don't act certain ways help a lot.
