Sorry I'm so slow to get back to you all. It's been an exhausting day. lol
Final count is 4 beautiful round pups. Not as many as I'd have wished for, but sometimes in a first litter it happens this way. What's important is that Bella is doing great, the pups are hardy and apparently feeding well, so all are content and there are no obvious complications.
I was woke up by Bella at 3:45 this morning having the pups in the bedroom closet, which is maybe 4 feet from my bed. Naturally I stayed up until I was sure she was done, so about noon. Once I was sure everything was done and secure, I went back to sleep for 3+ hrs. I feel like I ran a marathon. LOL
Bella is not at all worried over my handling the pups. She too is resting today, with potty breaks the only time she leaves them. I have the wading pool area all ready and waiting to move them into, but since she's so tired and seems comfortable where she's at, I will leave them in my room for today. It's not like there's any real rush now that the messy part is mostly over. lol
I need to worm Canada's litter tonight, should take updated photos of them since they're 6 weeks old today... I'm so wore out I haven't even tried to do that yet. This is one of those times when I do resent my limited energy level. Lucky for me Katie's here and is a great help if I need it.
So I'm hoping to be able to "save my spoons" so I'm all set to meet some of you in Chicago this weekend! I am looking SO forward to that!
