Hold on a minute! Nowhere in the rules does it say that you can't change the order of the letters! (It also doesn't say that you can...)
"Here is a simple game. See how long you can keep it going. They key to this game is to change only one letter in a word to make it a different word. For example, if the word was "luck" you could change it to "lick". Next person might change that word to 'lice", then to "live" and so on. I will start you out with a word and the next person will change only one letter."
