Salary usually means there is a base that you are paid no matter what unless you take leave without pay.

As far as benefits, companies may have some leeway here, but it's my understanding that anyone who works over 29 hours is elegible for benefits. Some companies offer them to workers who work less, but I think 30 hours per week means you get benefits.

You need to talk with an HR associate to get the straight scoop on this for your area.

Are you a union worker? I know unions have contracts that allow things to be done differently.
Marlyn, i talked to my boss this morning he don't know whats going on yet with me, cause you are right i get a base salary per pay based on the year not what i worked, so i don't know how there going to cut my hours yet... i get paid twic a month the 15 and the end of the month and my salary hours are always 86.67, so i don't know what there doing with me yet. i really don't think they can cut me, and if they do it's going to be a nightmare, i paid all of our insurances and everything out of my pay, and am i going to lose my holidays too - im so pissed right now i could scream!!!!
