My Health
Hello Ladies,
I'm home............Had my surgery on Wednesday the 15th. Got home on Friday the 17th. Friday was the worst day. With the surgery I had, an important tube was swollen shut. So I could not go number 1. So I have a catheter. If I had had a gun I would have shot a nurse and I would not be writing this now from home. But Thank God I'm hanging in there. I get the catheter taken out this coming Friday. I'm praying really often that things will be working normal when it does come out and that it stay's working normal for a long long long time to come. I would not wish this on my worst enemy. Well ok I wouldn't. I had posterior and interior repairs done, my bladder reattached and my uterus and cervix removed. No incisions on the outside anywhere. Praise God. I'm feeling really good today. But I am not doing much of anything for at least 3 more weeks. No vacumning, no mopping floors. A little light laundry and dishes every once in a while. No cooking. That is really hard though because I love to cook. So I will just enjoy the food people have been bringing over and my husbands a great cook also. If it weren't for him I would have been put away by now. My son came home from college to help over the weekend. My youngest daughter is a great help also. As for my oldest I've talked to her twice and that was on Friday. She has a life with a 22 month old a part time job and a new baby on the way and she also lives down by Janet. So thats my story and I want to thank all of you that prayed for me. It means alot. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you all have troubles of your own to deal with some more than others.. Thanks Again. ![]()

Happy to hear tath you are home, but I'm sorry that you had to come home with the catheter. I'll pray that you continue on your road to recovery and are back to yourself soon.

Sounds like you're having a heck of a time GF!!! I wanted to call you over the weekend, but didn't make any phone calls with company. I'll try to give you a call this evening after the boys go to scouts.

OMG!! Sounds like you have been through the wringer. Whatever you do - DON'T overdo!!! You need to rest and heal. I'm so sorry that a nurse messed up and caused you so much trouble (I'm a nurse). I hope it resolves without anymore problems.
Do they have you clamping off the catheter - to fill your bladder - and then unclamping to empty your bladder? You'll need to do that to retain bladder tone, and to be able to "feel" when you need to "go" once they remove the catheter. If they are not having you do that - DON'T DO IT JUST BECAUSE I SAID SO. I would call the doctor and say that someone mentioned it and see if they want you to do that. They might not, for some reason I don't know about. Keep us posted

That's a really good sign that you can feel when it fills up - that's the feeling you want! Sometimes when catheters flow continuously the bladder never fills so you lose that feeling. Good luck!
