Question Gold and/or Silver

Do you prefer gold jewelry or silver jewelry? Do you mix gold and silver jewelry? I've always felt that they shouldn't be mixed, but I'm seeing them mixed/matched more andn I think I like it.

I really love both, but like you Sandy, I always thought they shouldn't be together. Now I like them together alot. I see beautiful pieces of jewelry that are mixed also...so why not mix the pieces themselves.

Silver is my drug of choice I have lots of silver. I wear lots of turquoise and most of it is set in silver - that probably influences my preference. However, my hair is silver so silver jewelry on my neck or in my ears, compliments my hair and visa versa.

I have some gold jewelry but don't wear it very often, although I do some. I don't usually mix gold and silver, I don't like it on me - but I see others who do mix and I think it looks fine.

I wear lots of gemstone jewelry - in addition to turquoise - such as carnelian, lapis, and others. Most semiprecious stones like that are also set in sterling.

I have both but I prefer to wear the silver. My wedding ring is yellow gold but I don't hardly wear it because I don't like to mix silver and gold, plus the styles I wear don't go together.

Maybe I prefer gold because of my golden hair?! My youngest daughter's wedding set is platinum and makes sure everybody knows what it is. She is such a priss! I don't know where she got it (probably from MIL), but she's one of those people that makes sure to tell you how much something costs, what size she wears, how much she weighs, etc. Of course, she only has 3 pieces of platinum jewelry and won't wear anything else, so it's her loss.

I'm a gold girl. So was my mom & grandma. I tried on someones platinum wedding band & it looked aweful with my skin tone. Gold just suites me. I just wish it was stronger. I have to have my wedding set reshaped every other week.

My drug of choice is diamonds, I love diamonds.

I like diamonds too and I also like opals. When they show a lot of fire they are so pretty! I have a ring and necklace that are opals.

I prefer silver and usually wear it every day, but do wear yellow gold when the outfit has warmer gold tones.

My daily jewelry is mixed because my wedding rings are white gold with a diamond solitaire & I wear a diamond dinner ring on my right hand that is in a yellow gold setting, with a stainless steel band pinky ring. The pinky ring indicates that I am a member of the Order of the Engineer. There are enough diamonds in the dinner ring that it has a silvery look, so to me it's fine. Hubby gave me the ring after our first daughter was born. Around Christmas, I wear the ring he gave me after our second daughter was born, it's a combination of diamonds and emeralds (my birthstone is emerald). I've told the girls that they each get their ring when I pass on.

Hubby bought me a watch last Christmas that has both yellow and white metal on it, so my hands are one big combination. Other jewelery, ear rings and necklaces are always coordinated to be complementary to each other.

When I grow up, I'll start coordinating earrings and such. I've been wearing the same three different pairs of earrings for almost twenty years - small gold balls, very small diamonds, or small gold hoops.

Way off from the topic, but I'm just not a girly girl and sometimes I wish I were. I don't take time to use lotion or moisturizers. It's probably too late to start now. When I break a nail, I don't take time to file or clip it, just break it off or bite it off. I'm a jeans, boots, and baseball cap country kinda girl.

I look at women with all their matching clothes, shoes, jewelry, accessories and I sometimes want to be like that. Is it fun matching everything like that?
