Gucci Tore A Ligament
Hi ladies,
I know it's been awhile and I have not been in here . I do try to keep up with everyone on FB but sometimes that is hard also, not always seeing everyone's posts. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving , and here we are getting ready for Christmas. Time does fly. I always value your opinions for our fur babies we all have that bond in common. Ms. Gucci has injured her left back hind two weeks ago . She was being bad and ran to hide from me and I think she got stuck under my coffee table and lifted her leg to high. :-( the vet put her on an anti inflam pill Rimadly to see how that would work. Make a long story short took her to ortho vet and she said she has an ACL . She suggest I keep an eye on her and let her know how she is in two weeks. She mentioned that sometimes they heal on their own. Fast forward to today she was doing real well I see sometimes she limps but not like prior. I no longer have her jumping on and off her chair which is so sad I had a chair by LR that she would like to look out the window when we are out. Yesterday I spoke to soon, the weather was raw and damp and in the morning she was limping I called the specialist and she said it could be the weather like it happens in us humans to keep an eye on her. Ok here is where I need your input , I am so frantic I am praying that she does not need surgery for this, I read so many stories on the Internet and don't know what to believe . Most say do not do the surgery for sometimes the results are the same and time will heal this. I hate putting her through another surgery as you know she had liver shunt surgery at 2 yrs. old. and it is so expensive to. Please let me know what you think and if any of your yorkies have had this problem. Sorry for the long post but I need to vent. |

I don't think I'm going to be much help here Gina. I've also heard the surgery isn't a cure all and can be only temporary relief. I honestly don't know what I'd do. I do know, I couldn't afford it so my decision is pretty much made for me.
Can her leg be wrapped so that it can't be moved so maybe that would help it heal? I'm sorry Gina...I'm just not much help here.

Thanks Janet , the ortho vet is not pushing the surgery she said let's see how she does. She is not limping all day I will go get her pills tomorrow to use when I think she needs its like Tylenol has any inflam . I read there are no guarantees even with surgery on the Internet and probably quite expensive . I hate to put her through that so I am praying it heals . Thanks anyway !

So sorry I couldn't help, I sure wish I could have. Maybe if she takes it easy then it can heal....at least I'll be praying so.

Thanks Gina!!! Hope your birthday was a great one.
You're right, it is like a ghost town here at 4WT now. Not sure how to get everyone back, I think FB kind of done us in. I wish there was more going on here though, I miss everyone.
